Dalyce

Dalyce is my new trainer, she can motivate anyone to get healthy and fit! Her knowledge is thorough and her passion truly contagious even early in the morning! I am so fortunate to have been led to her through my friend Wendy Tippett. The networking resource we as women have in each other is priceless. Dalyce is the mother of 7 beautiful children, two of which are featured here. She has a gorgeous husband, a thriving career, and loves everything about being a mother. As she told me recently, to be a mother was all she ever really wanted. She is an unbelievable 48, and her youngest is just 6 months old. Here is the very beautiful and successful Dalyce, love her name too!

 

My name is Dalyce Mary Radtke, and I am 48.


What’s your passion, your life’s work so far?
My Family time is my passion. Practicing every aspect of living a fit and healthy life physically and emotionally. Inspiring women, (especially my girls) to realize lifestyle choices made today can have a great impact on future health and aging. Although we cannot stop the aging process, we now know that eating well and staying fit can help us look and feel better. The sooner you begin to make these healthy choices the more impact it will have on your quality of life. Its never too late.

Skip dessert, or wear Spanx’s?
Eat dessert and still don’t wear Spanx. You can eat dessert and still fit into your skinny jeans…(ask me how).

What personal attribute do you most value in yourself?
Self motivation. I’ve got the inner voice that pushes me and won’t let me quit.

Without apology, what can you no longer tolerate just because…….?
Laziness, very cold weather, the other person texting in the middle of a conversation, people that park right next to you in the parking lot when there are many other empty parking spaces (hard to squeeze out of a car with a baby seat and diaper bag!)



What will you never ever give up no matter what………..?
My personal alone workout time , chocolate, reading a regular hardback book (not on Kindle).

What would you say to your 30 yr. old self about the next 20 years?
Appreciate your looks every year. When you look back, you will realize that all the little things you are self conscious about, others probably don’t even notice. Work as much on your inner self as you do on your outer self. Learn everything you can about money and use what you learn. Follow your passion and keep following your passion.

Surgery, luxurious creams, injectables? Any, all, or nothing?
Do what ever makes you feel good about yourself. The goal should be to look the best you can look for YOUR AGE not to necessarily look younger. Personally, I am afraid of any “surgery “ to the face, but have no problem with a little filler or botox if needed. Don’t overdue it. Nothing worse than seeing someones face too tight or too full….

What do you think makes a woman feel truly beautiful?
Confidence in her body. Knowing what she has to offer to the world. Being pregnant and having your spouse TELL you how beautiful you look.

My Father always told me you have to answer to your “secret heart” he meant that we bury our inner most desires there, any buried treasures?
I Wish I knew the feeling of having a dad you could run to, jump into his arms and have him call you his Princess. It’s the foundation of all your male relationships.

What do you love about now?
The digital age. We can take as many photos as we want, delete and/or print right now ! Cell phones, a necessity when you have kids.

What do you loathe about now?
Cell phones, for the texting and computers. The youth of today are lacking in social skills and face to face interaction.

It is often said that men get better as they age, however it seems that more and more young men are finding older women very attractive. Would you be comfortable dating a younger man.?
I am MARRIED to a younger man. Age has nothing to do with it. Its about maturity, what stage of life you are in and if you have the same values and goals.

Do you have any special “tips” on getting and staying lean?
For as long as I can remember I have been eating most of my meals either on a small sidesalad plate or in ramekin’s. I rarely eat on a large dinner plate. This way it looks like you have a lot of food and if you want seconds you aren’t over eating. Our eyes are bigger than our stomach and we actually don’t need as much food as we think we do.

    Dear Dalyce,
    My daughter, Laura, sent me your interview, she is friends with one of your daughters and thought I would be inspired, she was right. I turned 50 this summer and worked hard at getting back into shape for the “big” party. It worked! I felt so wonderful and had the simple joy of being told I looked great as well. What I find really hard, and you seem to embody it, is the inner voice of motivation. I guess I need to pretend there will always be a “big” party I want to look & feel great for so I should use that as motivation…However if you have any other tips to motivate or secrets you are willing to share I am all ears!
    Your pictures are beautiful and your interview shares how much you care about others.

      thanks for the kind words..!
      Congratulations on getting back into shape for your “big party”.
      For some, motivation is like the big rocket boosters on the space shuttle – it gives you an initial spurt of energy to get up and get moving, but it’s just not sustainable.
      What you need is something more fundamental, more central and more important to you. What you need is something that comes from the inside, something that’s based on what’s important and what matters to you.
      For me,, feeling comfortable in my clothing is important, so is Having lots of energy. I do believe we are what we eat. I dont want chemicals, dyes and unhealthy fats in me because i know the harm it does. I make choices every day that i will be thankful for in the future.     This woman looks and sounds amazing. As a woman over 45, trying to become a mom myself, I love everything about this profile. There is more possible than we imagine at this age. And what is that apparatus she is suspended on??? That looks like a lot of fun, and probably very effective. Dalyce, if you read this, what is that, where can I get one, and will it help to train without stressing the joints, (which at this point begin to feel a leeeeetle bit testy ~ knees, hips, etc!). As a long time friend of “Lola”, I hope to meet you sometime when visiting her.

    • Kim, the apparatus is a TRX SUSPENSION trainer.
      it works the entire core and more importantly is good for unilateral training. Unilateral training is important to help identify muscle imbalances and/or weakness, which can lead to injury. Research has found that about 65 percent of injuries, both athletic and lifestyle-related, come from overuse, which is repetitive use of joints that are rendered dysfunctional by muscular imbalances. The simplest way to avoid muscle imbalance is to choose exercises that strengthen opposing muscle groups or perform unilateral training. Julie works out with this just 6 months post hip surgery.
